I can't be the only person that barely functions without a cup of coffee in the mornings. The last few weeks I have been getting up, and getting to work before my first cup of coffee in the morning.
The school has a really wonderful cafeteria that sells a cappuccino for R15 which isn't bad and works wonders on the mornings a cup of instant isn't good enough, aka when marking assignments. Some mornings I leave home a little earlier and have a choice of three local coffee shops, all within a km radius of the school.
If I am in the mood for something that makes me feel a little bit pampered or at least helps make me less stressed. I go to Whippet, they are open super early in the mornings and their muddy chai which is a chai latte with a shot of espresso is amazing. Thinking of it makes my tummy rumble.
If I want something to eat as well as a good cup of coffee, I go to the Argentinian, they have some of the most delectable pastries and as long as you cave yourself a few minutes, you won't be late.
New in my book is Yield, which is basically right across the street from the school, they sell great cups of coffee as well as wonderful sandwiches and a small collection of pastries.
I don't do the coffee every morning because I actually like having some money in my bank account but once a week I try and spoil myself with a good cup of coffee, I am not good at making at home, even though I have a fairly fancy coffee machine.
